Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Boards hiring processes.<p> Applications for the position of LBS/Core Student Support Instructor are being accepted by the Literacy Basic Skills & Core Essentials department for St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres.General Description of the Program: <p>St. Louis Correspondence courses are designed to be self-directed student learning experiences with minimal student / instructor interaction. <p>This position reports to the Program Manager of Correspondence and to the Principal of St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education. <p>Applications for the position of temporary Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) Instructor are being accepted by the Core Essentials Program (CorE) at St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres. This is a Literacy and Basic Skills program funded by Employment Ontarios Ministry of Colleges and Universities.General Description of Duties: <p>The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities including: Planning and delivering literacy, numeracy, and digital training to adult learners both in person and online<p> Developing a customized learner plan in co-operation with each learner and in accordance to LBS Program Guidelines; updating and adjusting this plan according to the learner goals, abilities and interests<p> Tracking and assessing learner progress using a variety of assessment methods and tools appropriate to the adult learning environment<p> Proctoring exams<p> Completing and submitting all statistical information and attendance records <p> Supporting learners during next-step transitions <p> Attending CorE staff meetings and professional development opportunities <p>M inimum Requirements: A 3-year post-secondary degree or diploma <p> 1 year experience teaching adults and a demonstrated ability to relate to a wide variety of adult learners<p> Excellent written/oral communications and math skills<p> Ability to adjust instructional style for working one-on-one with learners with various learning styles and needs <p> Computer skills: working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer (Power Point, an asset) <p>Desirable Assets: Comfort supporting math and science learners<p> D2L competencies<p> Teacher of Adults Literacy Educator Certificate recommended<p> Knowledge of Literacy and Basic Skills Program Guidelines and Essential Skills <p> Understanding of and demonstrated use of andragogical principles in the adult learning environment<p> Familiarity with the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework (OALCF) <p> Responsible, enthusiastic, and positive, with an ability to work as a team and adapt to a changing environment. <p>Location(s): Main campus, 80 Young St Kitchener Schedule: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 11:45 am 7:45 pm<p> 15 hours/week (with a 0.5 hour unpaid lunch)<p> September 16, 2024, - June 20, 2025.Delivery Method: In-person*The schedule and/or hours of work may cha
