Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Prosthetic device manufacturing companies. Tasks: Repair, build and modify prosthetic or orthotic appliances or footwear. Assemble or build prosthetic and orthotic appliances according to drawings, measurements and plaster casts. Make and modify plaster casts. Repair and maintain fabrication and laboratory equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by the Canadian Board of Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists. Membership in the Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Fast-paced environment. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills.
