*JOB DESCRIPTION*
Halfway River Ventures is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience on various types of equipment used for Road and Lease building, a good working knowledge of safety regulations, and able to work alone or within a crew environment. The position is based out of Fort St. John. Work locations are in the Peace Region with camp accommodations.

*RESPONSIBILTIES*
* Maintain a high standard for quality of work that helps to elevate the skills of the rest of the team.
* Work with Field Supervisors and crew to perform various tasks.
* Ensure effective communication at all times.
* Working knowledge of SiteDocs.
* Ability to report on progress and any potential issues as they arise to Field Supervisors.
* Perform daily pre-inspections and equipment safety checks.
* Complete required equipment maintenance.
* Attend and be an active participant in all safety meetings.
* Operate in a safe and respectful manner at all times on client job sites.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Minimum 3+ years working experience required.
* Experience operating a variety of equipment will be considered an asset.
* Proficient in slope cutting, trenching and grading to finish tolerance.
* Experience with Top Con GPS systems will be considered an asset.
* Ability to identify mechanical or safety issues with equipment.

* First Aid Level 1
* Ground Disturbance 201 - BCCGA
* CSO - Energy Safety Canada
