*The Opportunity:*
*Position:* Excavator Operator
*Location:* Kamloops, BC
*Key Responsibilities:*
? Operate excavators and related equipment with precision to execute excavation tasks in civil infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and storm systems.
? Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient work.
? Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
? Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and optimal performance.
? Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
? Identify and address potential hazards on the job site, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
? Assist in the installation and maintenance of underground utilities, ensuring proper grade and alignment.
? Adapt to varying site conditions and project requirements with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
? Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
*Experience:*
? Minimum of 5 years of experience operating excavators, with a focus on civil infrastructure projects involving water, sewer, and storm systems.
? In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques, site preparation, and trenching practices.
? Proven ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
? Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the construction industry.
? Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
? Certifications related to heavy equipment operation and safety are an asset.
