Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Prepare detailed specifications
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Create interior spaces that reflect clients' needs and tastes
  • Advise on selection of colours, finishes and materials, lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards
  • Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting and other fixtures
  • Develop plans, elevations, cross sections and detailed drawings
  • Prepare presentation graphics and drawings
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes
  • Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects
  • Operate computerized scanning machines
  • Create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings with computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Create three-dimensional (3-D) models with computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Collaborate with architects or other professionals in multidisciplinary urban design studies
