Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Asset languages: German. Work setting: Office. Tasks: Prepare detailed specifications. Work in a multidisciplinary environment. Create interior spaces that reflect clients' needs and tastes. Advise on selection of colours, finishes and materials, lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards. Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting and other fixtures. Develop plans, elevations, cross sections and detailed drawings. Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Estimate costs and materials. Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects. Operate computerized scanning machines. Create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings with computer-aided design (CAD). Create three-dimensional (3-D) models with computer-aided design (CAD). Collaborate with architects or other professionals in multidisciplinary urban design studies.
