Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. On-site customer service. Various locations. Tasks: Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment. Inspect trunking systems . Repair cable signals. Test trunking systems . Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment. Inspect operation of telecommunications equipment. Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware. Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software. Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Communication Electrician Trade Certification. Community Antenna Television Technician Trade Certification. Computer and technology knowledge: Telecommunication system. Equipment and machinery experience: Amplifiers. Cable outlets. Converters. Splitters. Area of specialization: Switch network installation and repair. Telecommunication service testing. Telecommunications equipment. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
