LITERACY CONSULTANT REQUIRED <p>FOR ST. PAUL SCHOOL DIVISION St. Paul Education requires a 1.0 FTE Literacy Consultant commencing the 2024-25 school year. <p>St. Paul Education is located in St. Paul, Alberta and serves approximately 3700 students at 18 school sites. <p>The successful candidate will: Work collaboratively with school administration, the division literacy committee and central office teams to develop and implement a division literacy framework, <p> Provide guidance, support and professional development to teachers and support staff in the development of effective pedagogical practices that support quality literacy teaching and learning in division schools,<p> Be comfortable working with students and in elementary, junior and senior high settings,<p> Have an advanced understanding of how to leverage literacy screeners and diagnostic assessments to support highly effective literacy core instruction and intervention for students needing additional supports, <p> Develop networks and partnerships to promote best practices in teaching and learning with division staff,<p> Have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate,<p> Be committed to student-centered learning,<p> Be collaborative and committed to building relationships with students, parents and staff throughout the divisionIdeally the successful candidate will have a Masters Degree in Literacy Education or a related field and have a proven track record of effectively using research-proven best practices to support student achievement in language and literacy. In doing so, St. Paul Education became the only school division in Alberta to operate both separate and public schools under one board. The Divisions religious, linguistic and cultural diversity is a source of strength and pride.<p>We serve 3625 students (K-12), including Catholic, First Nation, Mennonite, Hutterite and Home Schooling learners. Our 19 definable school sites are staffed by approximately 240 FTE teaching staff and 345 support staff.
