Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Mining company. Consulting engineering company. Tasks: Conduct feasibility studies in mining operation and evaluation. Conduct geohydrological programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping. Conduct geological programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping. Conduct geotechnical programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping. Develop feasibility studies planning in mining exploration. Plan programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping to assist in the development of civil engineering projects. Supervise technologists, technicians and other engineers and scientists. Prepare recommendations and reports for the construction or improvement of civil engineering projects. Conduct surveys and studies of ore deposits and mine design. Analyze reports and prepare recommendations on settlement of buildings, stability of slopes, and effects of earthquakes to support construction and civil engineering projects. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Resource usage and environmental studies: Rock mechanics. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Word. Mining technology.
