We are looking for Maintenance Manager to lead our Maintenance team located close to the Sapperton Sky train station in New Westminster, BC.
Are you an experienced truck or equipment mechanic who is looking to use your tools less and your mind more? Are you organized and detail oriented and know how work should flow through a shop?
*This is the perfect opportunity for you if:*
· You are an experienced Red Seal and have knowledge of Hydraulics and electrical systems as well as some experience with Forklifts and wheel loaders
· You have worked with a CMMS computer managed maintenance system.
· *A minimum of ten (10) years previous commercial vehicle repair experience *as a maintenance Lead Hand, Supervisor or Manager.
*KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES*
Reporting to the Trucking Operations Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to a group of ten mechanics by prioritizing their work, helping with diagnostics, making sure they have the right parts at the right time and verifying the quality of the work being done.
You understand that a safe work environment is critical, it's not worth doing the job if someone is going to get hurt. You know that preventative maintenance is always better than reactive, but stuff happens, and we need to know how to deal with breakdowns in a timely manner.
We believe that the successful candidate will be a curious, active communicator, process oriented, enjoy organizing and mentoring your team to provide our Collection services team with maximum up time of our equipment.
Overseeing Preventative Management program on assigned assets. This will include administrating the CVIP on the fleet ensuring that all trucks are certified and meet our NSC obligations
· Managing the Maintenance team employees, including vacation, education schedule, performance management, training etc.
· Providing leadership and support for a group of mechanics.
· Prioritizing work, diagnose problems and ensure team members have the tools, parts and equipment to do their jobs.
· Foster a culture of safety and preventative maintenance.
· Managing the preventive maintenance program on all assets.
· Overseeing repairs for all assets, including management of third-party repairs.
· Managing the team?s schedule, performance management and training.
· Overseeing parts planning and inventory management for all work orders
· Preparing parts inventory and time evaluation for work orders.
· Interacting with internal customers and vendors.
· Delivering and training on all Toolbox Talks in cooperation with our Trucking Operations Manager.
· Ensuring Maintenance Coordinator position is working cooperatively with Trucking and all suppliers and supporting the department on all support requests.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Red Seal in Heavy Duty mechanics
· 10 years of experience in commercial vehicle repair.
· Supervisory experience to provide coaching, team building, and development and performance management.
· Ability to demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
· Current Class 5 driver's license.
· Experience with forklifts and wheel loaders is an asset.
· Experience using a computer system to run a maintenance program.
· Experience with maintenance planning processes and procedure
· Working safely, leading on safety.
· Ability to manage and lead others through organizational changes.
· Maintains composure in stressful situations.
· Committed to continual learning to improve job knowledge/skills.
