Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities. Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment. Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Perform other duties related to personal care. Supply and empty bed pans. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas. Maintain inventory of supplies. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Transport patients between care facilities. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Answer call signals to determine patients' needs. Collect specimens. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Health Care Aide Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you available for the advertised start date?.
