Responsibilities
Tasks
-
Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
-
Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
-
Operate laser cutters
-
Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
-
Schedule work
-
Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
-
Operate plasma cutters
-
Develop computerized pattern and layout

Instruct apprentices

Supervise other workers

Cut materials using power tools or by hand

Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment

Fit and join sheet metal parts
