<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to join Aragon, an award-winning property developer. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of 7-8 accounting professionals and ensure the financial health and integrity of our company. The Accounting Controller will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, implementing accounting policies, managing benefits/payroll and providing strategic financial insights.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Financial Management:</strong></p><p>• Oversee, and perform, day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.</p><p>• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with accepted accounting principles.</p><p>• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.</p><p><strong>Team Leadership:</strong></p><p>• Supervise and mentor a team of 7-8 accounting professionals.</p><p>• Provide training, support, and performance evaluations to team members.</p><p>• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.</p><p><strong>Budgeting and Forecasting:</strong></p><p>• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.</p><p>• Monitor and report on budget variances and financial performance.</p><p>• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the President.</p><p><strong>Internal Controls and Compliance:</strong></p><p>• Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.</p><p>• Coordinate audits and implement audit recommendations.</p><p><strong>Strategic Financial Planning:</strong></p><p>• Assist in the development of long-term financial strategies.</p><p>• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.</p><p>• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.</p><p><strong>Financial Systems and Process Improvement:</strong></p><p>• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.</p><p>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.</p><p>• Ensure efficient and effective financial operations.</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred</p><p>• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.</p><p>• Experience in the property development industry is highly desirable.</p><p>• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.</p><p>• Proficiency in SAGE and Microsoft Office Suite.</p><p>• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.</p><p>• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.</p><p>• Experience in project and construction costing, budget management, cost control, variance analysis, and administration an asset</p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><p>• Healthcare spending account</p><p>• Competitive salary and benefits package.</p><p>• Education Reimbursement Benefit</p><p>• Fitness Contribution</p><p>• Collaborative and dynamic work environment.</p><p>Join our team and contribute to the success of our innovative property development projects!</p></div>Company Description<div>Aragon offers a great environment that fosters innovative thinking and gives members of our team an exciting, rewarding work experience.
