Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Hotel, motel, resort. Tasks: Co-ordinate special events. Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization. Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef. Inspect kitchens and food service areas. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Order supplies and equipment. Supervise kitchen staff and helpers. Clean kitchen and work areas. Recruit and hire staff. Organize buffets and banquets. Manage kitchen operations. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Support for youths: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Veterans: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Veterans. Support for Indigenous people: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers . Support for mature workers: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for mature workers .
