Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Road test motor vehicles . Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification. Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement. Area of specialization: Electrical and electronic system. Diagnostics. Alignment, steering and suspension. Brake system. Fuel and emission system. Ignition and electrical system. Engine repair and overhaul. Drive train components. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have the above-indicated required certifications?. Experience: Experience an asset.
