Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Dusty. Hot. Odours. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation available. Tasks: Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Weaning. Feed and tend animals. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Perform general farm duties. Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system. Pressure washers. Area of specialization: Swine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Excellent written communication. Organized. Team player.
