Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: University or college. Tasks: Counsel students regarding educational, career or vocational issues. Counsel students regarding personal and social issues. Co-ordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents and teachers. Refer students to other specialized services when required. Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops. Develop guidance and counselling programs. Arrange for recruitment of graduating students by employers. Counselling specialization: Academic program or credit evaluation. Study skills. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail.
