Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Work setting: General office. Tasks: Assist manager in the implementation of safety programs. Evaluate safety programs. Examine plans, drawings and site layouts. Plan safety programs. Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Type of inspection: New and existing buildings. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Parking paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Cellular phone. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
