Started in 1982, Misteelco Inc is a group of ISO 9001:2015 certified metal distribution warehouses throughout Southwestern Ontario with an inventory of carbon steel and specialty steel products. Misteelco Inc is looking for a Junior Accountant. This position is a generalist role responsible for supporting the finance department in various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. Responsibilities include but not limited to processing, reconciling and analyzing accounts receivables, accounts payables, inventories, banking, intercompany transactions and month end close. A thorough knowledge of full cycle accounting is essential for success in this role.
The following is a brief overview of the position:
Reports to:
· Director of Finance
Location:
· On Site, London, ON
General Responsibilities:
· Maintain and update accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
· Process financial transactions
* Perform month-end reconciliations of accounts, and other financial records, bank statements during team absences
· Monthly inventory valuations and depreciation calculations
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, and Intercompany files
* Review the accounting records/transactions and make corrections/adjustments if necessary
* Assist the preparation and filing of government returns and other regulatory documents.
* Handle basic administrative tasks related to the finance department, such as filing, data entry, and document management.
* Support the management team on internal financial and general reporting
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment
· Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles
* Basic knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations
* Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office and advanced Excel
* Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal

Job Type:
· Full-time
Work Expectations:
· 35 hours per week
· Monday to Friday
· 9am to 5pm (flexible)
