Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Installation. Service. Various locations. Tasks: Prepare tenders and quotations. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Develop computerized pattern and layout. Instruct apprentices. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
