Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Develop specific plans to prioritize. Direct agricultural crops deleafing activities. Direct farm grooming activities . Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots. Greenhouse cleaning. Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions. Harvest seedlings. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Oversee the activities of clearing the fields. Tie and secure plants. Train seed cutting techniques to farm labourers . Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Maintain financial and production records. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 5-10 people. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Attention to detail.
