Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Dusty. Hot. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Perform routine maintenance work. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction. Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Surface preparation experience: Drywall taping/patching. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Residential. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
