POSTED: July 9, 2024 <p>CLOSING DATE: July 16, 2024 <p>COMPETITION: 2024-64 <p>ELEMENTARY TEACHER <p>(0.4 FTE) Part time position<p>Caulfeild iDeC Elementary School<p>Effective September 3, 2024 until June 30, 2025 <p>The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications and Experience Caulfeild iDEC embraces innovative learning spaces that value student choice and flexibility along with inquiry-based learning and the ubiquitous use of digital tools for just in time learning.<p>The successful applicant must have: Current knowledge and recent successful experience and training at the intermediate and primary levels; <p> A clear understanding of the components of professional practice including planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities. <p> Experience with Google Apps for Education and other relevant digital platforms; <p> An understanding of the SAMR model and an ability to use a variety of digital tools that reflect the various stages; <p> Willingness to teach in a non-traditional learning space where micro-environments as well as student choice and flexibility are valued; <p> Experience and confidence with trans-disciplinary and concept-based learning; <p> Commitment to working with colleagues to develop a Program of Inquiry over the course of the school year;<p> Commitment to a collaborative model of teaching and weekly collaboration sessions focused on the development of student learning within units of inquiry; <p> Demonstrated experience emphasizing the learning process through formative assessment strategies;<p> Experience differentiating instruction to the meet the learning needs of all students at all levels; <p> A clear understanding and proven ability to create a positive learning environment that utilizes self-regulation strategies to address the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of the age group; <p> Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners, including ELL students; Excellent communication skills working with students, staff and parents to ensure continuity for student learning by regularly communicating and collaborating; <p> Demonstrated commitment to fostering a thriving school community; <p> Effective classroom management skills that are student centered and focus on relationships and authentic connections with knowledge of restorative practices; <p>Why West Vancouver Schools? <p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
