Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Provide sightseeing information. Provide passengers with information on fares, schedules and stops. Report delays, mechanical problems and accidents. Load and unload vehicle. Direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures. Ensure para-transit passengers board vehicle safely. Deal with public. Complete logbooks and reports. Deal with difficult passengers and resolve conflicts. Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems. Maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C). Type of experience: Buses. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Driver's abstract. Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Overtime required. Sitting. Sound discrimination. Work under pressure. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Client focus. Flexibility. Judgement.
