*The Role: *The Job Developer (JD) provides support in job searching job placements and establishes and maintains working relations with employers and industry organizations to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training for a diverse group of immigrant job seekers.
The Job Developerwill adhere to all Centre for Newcomers Policies and Procedures, Alberta Community and Social Services regulations, Career Development Association of Alberta?s (CDAA) professional ethics and ensure the confidentiality of client information and client records as provided for under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP).
*Responsibilities:*
· Identify labour market opportunities that suit the occupational skills and employment goals of persons with disabilities.
· Work with clients and case managers to understand clients? target jobs and required accommodations to perform the jobs.
· Develop and maintain employer partnerships in key industries and explore areas of collaboration around recruitment, work exposure opportunities and job placements.
· Follow through existing employer engagements and sustain/expand current areas of partnerships.
· Accountable for meeting contract deliverables and service outcomes.
· Manage the organization, oversight, implementation and evaluation of hiring events, employer forums and information sessions related to job placements.
· Develop, update and track clients? database on job placements and work exposure services.
· Advise/inform target clients and program staff on available job opportunities from partner employers and assist in generating clients? applications, eligibility assessments and referrals.
· Acquaint with labour market trends and research for service planning and educating clients on work opportunities.
· Develop and or facilitate job search and job application workshops.
· Conduct job placement follow-ups, track employment status of clients and provide continuing job retention support.
· Prepare reportorial requirements and related client database.
*Qualifications:*
· *Service-oriented* demonstrated experience in employer connections and job placements; commitment to exceeding client and partner service expectations. Culturally competent: familiar with serving job seekers with disabilities from other cultures than your own; strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
· *Education*: University degree in a relevant field: Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, among others.
· *Research:* Solid research abilities to identify job opportunities and understand industry trends.
· *Technical:* Excellent computer and internet skills,Proficient use of Zoom, Google Drive, MS Teams or other digital platforms
· *Experience:*
· Experience in any of the following fields is desirable: Human Resources & Recruitment, Sales, and Marketing.
· Experience working with high-need immigrants; proven experience in employer connections, networking, and labor market information and research.
· Experience supporting individuals with return-to-work plans and solid knowledge of workplace accommodations.
*Results-oriented: *Achieve monthly job placement targets by building and maintaining personal contacts with employers and industry representatives.
*Relationship Builder:* Proven ability to establish and build positive relations with job seekers and employer partners.
*Other: *Valid Class 5 Driver?s License
*Communication: *Adapts communication to respond to the audience or situational requirements. In addition to English, speaking one of the major immigrant languages is and asset.
