Our mission is simple: to provide healthier food choices to consumers everywhere.Better Food, Better Future!Join our Richmond team as a Warehouse Associate where you'll help provide healthier food choices!Why work at UNFI Canada?Wage starts at $20.25/hour plus $1.50 night shift premium \u003D $21.75/hourWage increases every 6 months by 0.50 centsHealth & Dental Benefits offered after 3 months of continuous serviceRetirement Savings Plan available after 6 months of serviceEmployee discount on organic foodsPosition: Warehouse AssociateJob Type: Full TimeSchedule: Sunday-Thursday 5:00 pm - 1:30 amLanguage Requirements: EnglishLocation: Richmond, B.C.Purpose:Responsible for picking orders, palletizing skids, loading outbound trucks, and unloading products while ensuring product quality.Job Responsibilities:Picks customer orders in a warehouse environment and complete picking in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.Operate a Walkie Rider/Electric Pallet Jack to pick, secure, and load orders.Build stable and well-secured pallets.Label pallets and number the pallets correctly to ensure proper put-away or delivery.Place each completed pallets into freezer, loading area and/or truck as required.Assist safely with loading trucks.Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping, removing trash as needed.Sort, sticker and repack individual pieces appropriately.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; wear appropriate PPE.Perform all duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.Performs all other job duties as required.Qualifications:Experience:At least 1-year previous experience in a warehouse environment.Previous experience or familiarity with produce (quality expectations, varities, case packs) preferred.Skills & Abilities:Able to lift, load, unload, and/or move product weighing between 5-50 lbs on occasion.Able to safely operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks.Able to work in different areas of the warehouse (incl. dry and cooler sections 3-5 C.)Able to read and correctly interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Has a high regard for health and safety.Good organizational skillsStrong attention to detail.Sense of urgency with ability to work well under pressure.Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Ability to be flexible regarding tasks and work a flexible schedule as needed.Ability to complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and efficient manner.Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Canada.As a condition of employment, this position is subject to the successful completion of the following pre-employment conditions:Criminal Background CheckEmployment Reference CheckOur Commitment:UNFI believes in a diverse and accommodating workplace.
