Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Type of trucking and equipment: Dry bulk. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Bondable. Driver's validity licence check. Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel for extended periods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Flexibility. Reliability. Experience: Experience an asset.
