We currently have an opening for a Corporate Records Legal Assistant. You will be responsible for handling corporate transactions including annual returns and general maintenance of corporate records.
*Essential Job Functions *
_Responsibilities include:_
* Preparation of documents relating to corporate annual return filings
* Creation and submission of corporate filings at Information Services Corporations, Corporate Registry
* Utilizing firm specific software
* Updating and maintaining corporate minute books and ledgers
* Preparing ancillary documents such as resolutions and agreements
* Written and oral communications with clients, accountants, and financial institutions
* Closing files and sending off site
* Meeting with clients as required
* Lawyer practice management functions as required, including calendar and task maintenance
* Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, dictation, telephone calls, and photocopying
* Maintenance of electronic filing system
* Commissioning documents as required
* Provide additional clerical and administrative support
*Education/Experience Requirements*
* Minimum Education: Legal Assistant or Administrative Assistant Diploma or Certificate from recognized educational institution an asset
* Minimum Experience*:* 1-2 years in a related administrative position
*Other Skills/Abilities*
* Competency in general computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience with industry software such as Emergent and Acumin is considered as asset
* Autonomy to work with little supervision
* Strong initiative
* High attention to detail and organization skills
* Timely turnaround times
* Ability to handle several competing deadlines
* Ability to work with confidential data
* Oral and written communication skills with superior telephone skills and professional disposition
