We are seeking a Hotel Manager to join our team at the Executive Cosmopolitan Hotel & Spa, positioned in the vibrant core of Toronto?s financial district, offering top-notch amenities and personalized service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hotel management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven record of delivering outstanding guest experiences. As the Hotel Manager, you will oversee all aspects of hotel and spa operations while ensuring the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- Develop short-term and long-term financial and operational plans for the hotel in alignment with company objectives.
- Meet assigned departmental budgets and collaborate with the property Controller to monitor financial statements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performance management, employee training, and development.
- Oversee security, preventative maintenance of company assets, and ensure the safety of employees and guests.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance guest satisfaction and operational excellence, maintaining consistent guest satisfaction levels.
- Manage operations in compliance with local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.
- Stay abreast of business trends and local activities, maintaining an appropriate level of community involvement.
- Maintain schedule flexibility to accommodate the hotel's 24/7 operations, including working one weekend day.
- Foster cohesiveness and positive morale within the hotel, maintaining an open-door policy and engaging with employees at all levels.
- Directly involved in the day-to-day operations of various departments including Guest Services, Reservations, Concierge, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Spa, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, and Revenue.
- Drive operational innovation, implement new standards, and stay updated on technological advancements.
- Recognize the significance of guest reviews on platforms like TripAdvisor, Bookings.com, and Google Reviews.
- Take an active role in recruitment, following Human Resources guidelines, overseeing orientation, training programs, and conducting timely performance reviews.
*Required Skills and Experience:*
- Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor?s degree in hospitality.
- Excellent people management and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams, fostering exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in human resources practices and regulations, particularly in unionized environments.
- Luxury hotel experience is advantageous.
- Proven self-starter who thrives under pressure and meets deadlines consistently.
- Ability to cultivate trust and relationships across all employee levels.
- Demonstrates self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm in all endeavors.
- Proficient in problem analysis, decisive decision-making, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated expertise in hospitality financials, reporting requirements, and industry metrics.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- In-depth understanding of hotel management principles and best practices.
- Strong leadership abilities to motivate and inspire diverse teams.
- Focus on excellent customer service, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
