Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, in this unionized position you will provide network maintenance and support services to client departments.ResponsibilitiesInstall, upgrade and configure network hardware, including switches and firewalls Perform systems maintenance on core network infrastructure and ensure backup and recovery operations Monitor the performance and use of the network Prepare and maintain network documentation for systems operating procedures related to security and network applications structure Investigate, assess and resolve hardware and related software issues, including more complex user issues Perform related work as requiredQualificationsCompletion of a two year diploma in computer technology from an institute of technology or community college plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience Considerable knowledge of the practices and procedures used in the identification and resolution of hardware and related software issues on networked computers Ability to install, test and upgrade and configure network hardware and related software Ability to prepare and maintain network documentation Working knowledge and hands on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Wired and Wireless technologies is considered an asset Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following technologies is considered an asset: AD and Azure AD (Entra ID), VMWare vSphere, NetApp Ontap, Commvault/Veeam, SolarWinds, Mitel/ShoreTel Cisco, CompTIA, VMWare, and/or formal training in any of the above technologies is desirableSecurity Clearance for work at RCMP Buildings is required (not required as part of the application process, however, will be required upon consideration for employment).Required Certifications/LicensesCandidates must have the following valid and current certifications/licenses (must be valid at the time the posting closes) and these must be attached with your application. BC Class 5 (full privilege) Driver?s License.
