Recreation Leader(TEMPORARY - FULL-TIME)The North Okanagan is an exceptional place to live, work and explore. We have an opening for the temporary, full-time position of Recreation Leader to cover a 6 month leave of absence with a potential for this position to transition to ongoing, regular employment. The successful candidate will have a diploma in event planning, tourism, community recreation, public administration or a related field and hold a valid BC driver?s license. You are highly organized, a creative thinker and provide superb customer service with the ability to deal tactfully with the public. You possess sound marketing and planning skills and are familiar with recreation booking software, such as PerfectMind. You also have excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook). A minimum of two years experience in event planning, tourism or recreation, preferably within local government is required. Reporting to the Manager, Culture and Community Services, the Recreation Leader is responsible for the development and implementation of recreational programs and services at White Valley parks and facilities. The position will also provide administrative support to the Strategic and Community Services department. The incumbent will be physically located in Lumby approximately 70% of the time (3-4 days per week) with the remaining time scheduled at the Regional District?s Aberdeen Road office.
