Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Outdoors. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Various locations. Work in employer's/client's home. Tasks: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Manual dexterity. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Tight deadlines. Walking. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Dependability. Flexibility. Reliability. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
