Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Pharmacy or drugstore. Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Manage staff and assign duties. Determine staffing requirements. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies. Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification. Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route. Computer and technology knowledge: Kroll Software. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Repetitive tasks. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours.
