Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Develop information materials concerning the uses, properties and risks of particular drugs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Certification. Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route. Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability.
