Mishka Social Services is seeking a motivated and experienced Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and managing the grant application process to secure financial support for our organization's programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and a passion for making a difference in the community.
*Roles and Responsibilities:*
* Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources that align with Mishka Social Services' mission and programs.
* Collaborate with program managers and other staff to gather information and data necessary for grant proposals.
* Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and other fundraising materials that effectively communicate Mishka Social Services' objectives, activities, and impact to potential funders.
* Develop budgets and budget narratives for grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with funders' guidelines and requirements.
* Coordinate and track the grant application process, including deadlines, submission requirements, and follow-up communications with funders.
* Stay informed about trends and developments in the field of grant writing and philanthropy, and share relevant information with colleagues to support continuous improvement and innovation.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, English, or public administration).
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in grant writing or fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals and other written materials.
* Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources to support grant applications.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with funders and other stakeholders.
* Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and practices, including grant prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
* Commitment to Mishka Social Services' mission and values, with a passion for social justice and community development.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.50 per hour
