Partner Staffing is the "go-to recruiter" for difficult, important, and time-sensitive positions in Western Canada.  We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.  Partner Staffing is currently working with our client to find a Biologist  for their Team, based out of their Calgary, Alberta office. Key Responsibilities Conduct fish habitat assessments Determine habitat suitability and provide mitigate measures for use during construction Classify watercourses under the Water Act COPs and Public Lands Act Prepare federal and provincial regulatory notifications and approval applications Conduct fish salvage / rescue and water quality monitoring Manage project budgets, timelines and deliverables Implement corporate and client safety programs Ensure that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner Provide assistance to senior staff and train junior staff, as required Requirements Must possess a post-secondary degree in biological sciences, a technical diploma in biological sciences, or educational equivalencies Must have or be eligible for a designation of professional biologist and QAES Possess 5-8 years of related experience Advanced working knowledge of provincial and federal water, wildlife and fisheries acts Must have knowledge of aquatic environments, experience in fisheries and aquatic environment assessment methods, and experience determining mitigation measures required to maintain aquatic habitats Willingness to travel and be in the field for extended periods Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry Valid driver?s license Good physical health and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions Willingness to work within a team environment Highly organized and can prioritize multiple tasks Preference will be given to candidates with experience in construction monitoring, inspection, and/or wetland assessments. Experience with electro fishing and conducting hydrological assessments including flow rate measurements and scour assessments would be considered an asset.
