Job details
*Key Responsibilities*
*1. Client Consultation*
* Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget for interior design projects.
* Provide expert advice on space planning, color schemes, materials, and furnishings.
* Develop and present design proposals, including mood boards, sketches, and 3D renderings.
*2. Design Development*
* Create innovative and functional interior design concepts that align with client requirements and project goals.
* Develop detailed design plans, including layouts, elevations, and construction drawings.
* Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories.
*3. Project Management*
* Coordinate and oversee the implementation of design projects from concept to completion.
* Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure design intent is realized.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
*4. Space Planning & Layout*
* Conduct site visits and measurements to develop accurate floor plans and layouts.
* Optimize space utilization and traffic flow to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
* Address any design challenges and provide creative solutions to meet client needs.
*5. Sourcing & Procurement*
* Source and procure furniture, fixtures, materials, and accessories in line with design specifications.
* Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing and quality.
* Manage purchase orders, deliveries, and installations to ensure timely project completion.
*6. Quality Control & Compliance*
* Ensure all design elements meet industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
* Conduct inspections and quality checks during and after project execution.
* Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the design and construction phases.
*Qualifications*
*1. Education & Experience*
* Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
* Proven experience as an Interior Designer or in a similar role.
* Portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, demonstrating creativity and technical proficiency.
*2. Technical Skills*
* Proficiency in design software
* Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, and building codes.
* Knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture, including sourcing and procurement processes.
*3. Soft Skills*
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational and project management abilities.
* Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Salary:* Starting from $60,000; based on experience and qualifications.
*Location:* Richmond, BC
