We have a supportive parent community involved in school fundraising and classroom volunteering and have a long history of offering a variety of activities to our students in the fine arts, technology, literacy, numeracy, social responsibility, and athletics.The successful candidate will be committed to working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to design an environment and programming conducive to engaging children and their families. They should have a breadth of knowledge and experience in the areas of social emotional learning, trauma informed practice, differentiated instruction, and?familiar with technology used to support students. <p>The successful candidate may be required to complete LSS Essentials , a series of 3 workshops facilitated by the LSS Department The annual salary for this full-time Teacher position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458 with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. <p>Education & Experience Major/minor or diploma in Inclusive Education (aka Special Education) Practicum and/or work experience in Inclusive Education at the Elementary level Case management experience required Training and experience with Level B Assessments (ie. KBIT2/KTEA III) Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification Eligible for B.C. Certification Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reportsTeaching Competencies<p>All teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of others in a tactful, compassionate and respectful manner. <p> Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment <p> Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics. <p> Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning <p> Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies. <p> Collaboration & Tea
