Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Computer systems networking and telecommunications. Work setting: Computer hardware or software retailer/wholesaler. Service. Repair. On-site customer service. Maintenance. Installation. Various locations. Tasks: Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software. Implement data, software and hardware security procedures. Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Determine nature, cause and location of trouble. Complete and maintain test and service reports.
