Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Tasks: Measure and lay out reference points for installation. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Provide customer service. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Control systems: Energy conservation. Computerized monitoring. Electrical devices. Electronic and solid state. Pneumatic devices. Programmable logic controller (PLC). Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Air motioning and circulation. Built up (split system). Ventilation. Cooling tower. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods.
