Please visit www.NLHealthServices.ca for more information.Job SummaryClinical Pharmacists will report to the Pharmacist-in-Charge at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital (St. Anthony) or Labrador Health Centre (Happy Valley Goose Bay). The primary purpose of these positions is to provide pharmaceutical services to the applicable hospital. Clinical Pharmacists are responsible for assessing requests for special authorization medications, developing drug utilization protocols, reviewing/controlling drug utilization, reviewing drug product submissions, and monitoring abuse and inappropriate medication use.Qualifications:" Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy)." The successful candidate will have experience in professional pharmaceutical practice (Regional Health Authority experience preferred) and must be eligible for licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board (NLPB) and provide proof of membership with the Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL) and provide proof of malpractice insurance;" Annual continuing education requirements for licensure." Strong communication and presentation skills as well as an ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment;" Demonstrated experience with interdisciplinary rounds, medication reconciliation, and Accreditation Canada Standards;" Knowledge of Meditech and Kroll computer systems will be considered an asset;" The candidate should possess a knowledge of inventory procedures, and the healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO);" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct.Duties: (Included but not limited to)" Perform clinical and distributive aspects of pharmacy related to acute care and long term care clients/residents;" Provide comprehensive assessment of clients' medication requirements and therapy;" Provide clinical consultation services to health care providers throughout the region;" Participate in product preparation requiring aseptic technique (chemotherapy, as well as other admixtures);" Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, preparation/use and administration of medications;" Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds as well as provide ongoing education to other clinical services;" Provide pharmacy representation on hospital or organizational committees;" Provide pharmacy coverage at the other two hospital sites in the region as required;" Other related duties.Salary: " NAPE HP CG-41 Salary Scales plus applicable Market Adjustments and Labrador Allowance.Incentives, subject to eligibility requirements: " Signing Bonuses up to $16,000" Bursaries Available up to $10,000" Relocation Assistance Posting Date: September 21, 2023Closing Date: Open Until Filledcc: NAPE HP
