School District No. 64 (Gulf Islands) invites applications for the 1.0 FTE continuing position of Vice Principal of Saturna Elementary School commencing August 1st, 2024. <p>This teaching/administrative position on Saturna Island, off the southeast coast of Vancouver Island, has a projected enrolment of ap-proximately 12 students in grades K to 6. The minimum salary for this position is $124,668. Fur-ther information can be found at http://sd64.bc.ca/. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality programs to elementary students, operate the school, and perform district-level duties as required. This position requires a high energy level and the ability to sustain a heavy and varied workload. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work successfully with all partner groups. Documented qualifications must include: <p>Valid B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate of Qualification or equivalent<p>Relevant Masters degree or in progress<p>Recent school teaching and leadership experienceApplications should be accompanied by evidence of the following: <p>Strong working knowledge of BC curriculum and student learning in an elementary, multi-age setting <p>Experience teaching in a multi-age setting, including adapting curriculum to address broad, multi-grade themes<p>Ability to guide the development and implementation of shared values, vision, mission, and goals to sup-port engagement, learning, and success for all learners<p>Demonstrated success in implementing current pedagogical practices<p>Experience supervising learning with a focus on instructional and assessment practices that maximize stu-dent development, engagement, and learning<p>Ability to implement the goals in the Districts Indigenous Education Enhancement Agreement<p>An understanding of environmental, place-based & differentiated education<p>A track record of excellent initiative, organizational, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills<p>Strong, value-based practice supporting students with diverse learning needsApplication should include: <p>A letter of application<p>A letter outlining your educational philosophy (one page only) <p>Current resume or portfolio with supporting documents including names of three professional refereesReview of applications received will commence on Monday, June 24th, 2024.
