Pembina Hills School Division requires an Itinerant Full-time Inclusive Education Teacher available commencing the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year. The position will involve providing service to Busby, Dunstable, and Fort Assiniboine schools.<p>The Inclusive Education Teacher, with guidance from the Division specialist(s), will collaborate with school administrators to support classroom teachers with purposeful classroom instructional design for all learners. Their support to classroom teachers will focus on engaging all students in an inclusive learning environment. Instructional design will align with the principles of Universal Design for Learning and Concept-Based Instruction. <p>Qualifications<p>Education: Bachelor's in Education <p> Must hold a valid Alberta teaching certificateEducation: Advanced studies in Special Education, Psychology or Counseling beneficial, but not required Experience or training: Teaching experience, particularly experience in Inclusive Education Services<p>Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with classroom teachers to design learning that purposefully engages all students <p> Coordinate the plans, assessments, monitoring and supports for identified students <p> Professional Development, Reporting and Accountability <p> Assist the School Principal with Educational Assistant staffing Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: <p>The Inclusive Education Teacher, as part of the school team, must have most or all of the following qualities and characteristics: A service mind-set <p> Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentations) <p> Flexibility and ability to prioritize effectively <p> Research skills <p> Group Facilitation skills <p> Collaboration skills <p> Time Management Skills <p> Knowledge of the Priorities and key strategies of the school Education Plans <p> Knowledge of current best practices and research relative to effective practices in support of children with diverse needs. <p> Knowledge of special education students to assist in the development of appropriate interventions and consultation for ISP development.<p> Ability to provide Professional Development and training to staff. <p> Understanding of the principles of Universal Design for Learning. <p> Understanding of the principles of Concept-Based Instruction. <p> Ability to develop relationships with teachers built on rapport and mutual respect. <p> Demonstrated commitment to supporting students in an Inclusive setting.<p> Knowledge and understanding of Division policies and practices (especially AP 60-10 and AP 60-12). <p> Web 2.0, Word processing and spreadsheet skills. <p> Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to form trusting relationships with ease. <p> Demonstrated commitment to formative assessment practices through classroom implementation. <p> Understanding of the research process. <p> Experience in providing students with alternate means to demonstrate learning. <p> Knowledge and understanding of Division hiring policies and practices. <p> Knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Educational Assistants in Pembina Hills.<p>For further information, please contact Raime Drake, Deputy Superintendent, Education Services at 780.674.8505.This competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.There are inherent risks in the work<p>employees do throughout Pembina Hills School Division (PHSD).
