Since day one, SPS has been intentional about building a culture that is inclusive, respectful and supportive, with a strong focus on employee wellness and career development.About the RoleSPS has an exciting opportunity for a Database Analyst 3 to join the Support Services Bureau. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager, the successful candidate will apply their database management talents by accessing and allocating database resources for optimum con?guration and performance; performing backups and recovery; con?guring database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models, de?ning data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements. In addition, the Database Analyst supports multiple services and databases of medium to high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.This role will require strong communication skills, including an ability to write IT procedures, reports, and documenting business processes and policies. In addition, a person in this role will also need to be comfortable with presenting recommendations to various senior management audiences and key stakeholders at a business level of communication. Finally, providing oversight, communicating work procedures, and mentoring junior IT employees may be required as needed.The successful candidate will be highly organized and solutions-focused with an ability to think critically and efficiently. The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with users, team members, and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor?s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related ?eld by a recognized institution plus four (4) years related experience or, an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.This position is unionized represented by CUPE Local 402.
