We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the CVRD in the key role of Manager - Fire Rescue Services.Reporting to the General Manager, Strategic Service Department, the Manager - Fire Rescue Services is responsible for coordinating fire rescue services and administrative functions including budgets and strategic planning of related section operating guidelines, policies, and procedures. As the administrative leader of the CVRD?s fire rescue services, the Manager - Fire Rescue Services is responsible for the fire departments under the jurisdiction of the CVRD and works collaboratively to optimize fire rescue services, fire prevention, education, training, project management and the procurement and distribution of goods and services in support of fire/rescue operations.Our Ideal Candidate:A diploma in a Fire Services field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Fire Officer (NFPA 1021) Level 2 (Level 3 and above preferred) Emergency Operations Centre Level 2 7 years of relevant experience in the field of Fire Rescue Services. Experience in supervising and facilitating staff and volunteer recruitment, selection, and retention processes. Standard First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain. Valid Class 5 BC Drivers? License and access to reliable transportation. Emergency management training and Volunteer/Resource Management training are assets. Comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, and insurance benefits, pension, and paid vacation. 35-hour full-time work week with the opportunity to participate in the CVRD?s Flex Time Program. Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the CVRD has a Work From Home program. This program allows staff to work remotely, with the number of remote days per week determined by operational requirements, from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a CVRD worksite.
