Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Children's camp. Tasks: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Prepare, package and restock goods. Accept and deliver messages and packages for events, conferences or assemblies. Load and unload goods. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Pay and receive payments for goods. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Compile worksheets and specifications of orders. Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies. Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Computer and technology knowledge: MS Word. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Regional. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Tight deadlines. Work under pressure. Walking. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
