Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Home care and visiting care agency. Nursing home/home for the aged. Private residence. Tasks: Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Conduct disease screening. Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician. Engage in research activities related to nursing. Manage home care cases. Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment. Provide nursing care. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. Area of specialization: Geriatrics. Palliative care. Pediatrics. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Tuberculosis test. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
