Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of Canadians.Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst Department: Finance Competition: 87129 Internal/External: Both Employment Type: Full Time Permanent Location: Hybrid- Moncton Salary: Competitive Compensation Reports To: Manager Closing Date: June 19, 2024 Position Summary As a Senior Financial Analyst with Medavie Blue Cross, you will leverage your knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) to address the reporting and analysis needs of the Company on monthly performance as well as budgeting, and projection. You will be responsible for the analysis and preparation of financial information to support reporting requirements and material presented to senior management and the Board of Directors. You will review and improve processes, enhance process documentation and policies, and ensure financial controls are in place are operating as expected. Responsibilities Participate in the Company's financial reporting activities by preparing, analysing, and providing insights related to month-end financial performance, variance analysis and/or projections of the Company's operations. Continuously look for opportunities to streamline and enhance financial data for analysis and reporting using advanced Exceland other tools. Be involved in various initiatives relatedto process improvement, establishing or enhancing existing policies, process documentation or evaluating controls in place, and ensuring they are operating effectively. Participate in preparation of presentations and reports for senior management, the Board of Directors, and its Committees. Review and/or implement accounting standard appropriately including journal entries, updating annual financial statement note disclosures, documenting our positions in addition to being involved in regular year-end analysis, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. Prepare information relating to various aspects of subsidiaries financial reporting, other legislative requirements as well as compiling information to be presented to regulators or other third parties. Qualifications Post-secondary education in business with a concentration in accounting. CPA designation would be considered an asset. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience. Strong Excel skills, knowledge of query tool (such as Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx) would be considered an asset as well as skills relating to preparing dashboard, charts or other visual ways to communicate financial information. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team as well as independently. Self-directed with high levels of personal accountability and responsibility. Interested in deepening knowledge of highly technical and specialized concepts. Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
