Community Engagement: We strengthen our commitment to the community with programs like volunteer time, employee-driven initiatives, and monthly giving to charities chosen by our employees.Core ResponsibilitiesAs a Legal Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Reviewing and prioritizing incoming mail, coordinating faxes and drafting routine correspondence for lawyer review; Timely communication to key parties as required; Conducting property searches using Property Online; Preparing client report books; Obtaining tax certificates and handling tax payments, mortgage payouts, commissions, etc.; Setting court appearances in paralegal's calendar when directed, including setting up all reminder B/F's for filing Briefs, Affidavits, Financial Disclosure, etc.; Processing large volumes of documents, with ability to use technology to store and organize files diligently; Obtaining Verbal Taxes; Wires/ Internal Transfer of funds/ Cheque Requests; Editing documents using Adobe; and, Scan/ Print/ Courier;Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful, you possess the following qualifications and skills: Graduate of a legal assistant/paralegal program or equivalent combination of training and experience; Detail oriented and meticulous, with excellent proofreading skills; Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative; Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service; Excellent team player who contributes positively to team culture; Proven ability to manage high-volume work and prioritize multiple priorities in a deadline driven work environment; Ability to be self-motivated and autonomous Adept at using technology such as Outlook and Microsoft Suite, and an aptitude for learning new computer programs quickly; Knowledge of Athennian, Closing Folders, Property Online, and ProLaw an assetMake Your Mark at BOYNECLARKE LLPHere, you won't just find a job?you'll find a career and a community.
