Job description: Maintenance Mechanic (Toronto and Hamilton)Hamilton-$41.00-$43.00/hr Base Salary-$1 Night Shift Premium-$1 Dual Ticket Premium-Tool Allowance-Unionized-Full-BenefitsResponsibilities include but are not limited to:- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determinework procedures.- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum,hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment, identifyingirregularities and malfunctions.- Adjust machinery, making repairs or replacing defective parts asneeded.- Operate machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricateparts for machinery overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using handand power tools and welding equipment.- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of processingequipment, ensuring efficient repair/replacement results.- Optimize equipment for safety, efficiency, and reliability,participating in continuous improvement projects.- Comply with all legislative and company policies regarding foodsafety, health and safety, and environmental procedures.- Service, clean, and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul onall production and bakery equipment.- Improve equipment function through design improvements.- Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area, ensuring compliance withcompany health and safety standards.- Perform other related duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: Requirements / Preferred QualificationsThe Maintenance Mechanic Millwright is required to have:- Industrial Millwright 433A.- 2-5 years' industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the foodindustry.- Proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices,pneumatic & hydraulic fields is required.- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.- Comfortable using computers.- Ability to work well within a team and independently.- Capable of occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with unique dailychallenges.- Availability for a flexible shift schedule, includingday/afternoon/night shifts, Sunday to Saturday, and holidays.Preferred Qualifications- Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Food industryis highly preferred).- Must have a valid drivers license.- Can complete all other duties as instructed and assigned by Leader.
