The Production Superintendent is directly accountable for the shift Smelter production plan. As such, this role has the authority of the Manager to apply resources on-shift to deliver the production plant on a shift-to-shift basis.As a Production Superintendent you will Manage day to day operation at the plant level to achieve the following outputs:Zero Harm to employees, the business, the environment and the community, Achieve/exceed production quality & quantity targets while maximizing economic resources and recovery, and Achieve total product unit cost.Execute shift production and/or maintenance plans and approve deviations as required. Directly accountable for the shift Smelter production plan. As such, this role has the authority of the Manager to apply resources on-shift to deliver the production plant on a shift-to-shift basis.Follow notification protocols for incidents and initiate on-shift investigations.Ensure Safe behaviors are exhibited by all crew members. Coach Supervisors on consistently reducing Risk and take corrective action when necessary to address noncompliance.Coach & counsel supervisors on the standards of behaviour, and take corrective actions as required, including discipline and grievance management.Audit Supervisor compliance to Monthly Safety plans, IM process, Policy/Procedure reviews, MOC system, etc. Execute monthly safety plan and comply with all applicable safety systems and processes.Perform On Scene Coordinator duties as per the Copper Cliff Complex Emergency and Fire Safety Manual. Continuously improve the performance of the production & maintenance frontline team through effective use of established processes and procedures. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with increasing consistency and accuracy by; Assigning tasks to Supervisors so that work gets done in a safe and coordinated way. HHandle process and social problems as they occur. Consistently apply established policies, procedures and best practices.Manage issues escalated by the Shift Supervisors.Update forecasts and escalate when plans and/or forecasts will not be achieved. Provide performance feedback to Shift Supervisors and provide input to the Manager for Succession Planning. Advises the Manager on improving the capability of the L1 team to meet future needs through selection and development.Contributes to the implementation of new systems/processes and provides guidance, auditing, mentoring and analysis support to the management team.About YouEducation: High School required to Post-secondary.Experience:Minimum of 8-10 years of experienceSkills:Strong organizational and leadership skillsAbility to manage the social, technical and commercial processes on shift within established limitsLeadership experience in leading teams and also the ability to influence levels in the organization including supporting corporate groups.Strong Work &
